Mask project

1. What does a mask do in Photoshop?
It shows what you have selected and what you havent selected.

2. In masks, what do the colors Red, Black and White represent?

The red represents what is not selected. The black takes away the things you dont want to be selected. The white fills in the things that are not in red that you want to select.

3. Which tools did you use in mask mode?
I used the brush tools.

4. How did these tools help you to feather your selection? It helped fill in things that i wanted to be selected and to remove anything that i dont want to be selected.

5. What did the adjustment layers do to your image? It adjust your image.

6. Which did you find easier to make selections - lassos or masks?
I find masks easier to make a selection.

project #3

1) How do masks make the silhouette work?
Masks make the silhouette work to make sure that the cutout is perfect and that the pictures fit into the cutout.
2) What images did you find to put inside your cutout?
I found the democratic symbol. I also found the slogan for Obama's campaign was Yes we Can. It stands for everything he is. I also found the no racism because him being president was a big step for the nation. It shows he overcame everyone that told him he couldn't be president just because of his color. He stands up for what he believes despite his color of his skin.
3) How did you get the letters to trace around the cutout?
I got the letters to trace around the cutout by making a work path. You make a work path by clicking on the panel that says paths. Then on the side it has a little symbol that you can click on. There will be many options but theres one that says to make a work path. When i clicked on it it made a path for me to write it around the cutout.

4) How satisfied were you with your silhouette and your letter tracing?
I was very satisfied with my silhouette and letter tracing because it cam e out good. The letter tracing came out great. You can understand what it says and what he stands for.

Lab 7

I used the clone tool to fix the rip in the bottom left corner. it is now replaced with grass. I also replaced the sprinklers in the picture with grass. Now it looks better and perfect. This tool can be useful if you want to fix the picture. For example if you have a picture that is ripped or missing something you can clone a part of it and replace it. Also if you want another copy of the picture.

Stare at the black star while covering your right eye. Come closer to the screen and watch as the colored star disappears. Amazing! it disappears as if by magic.
An optical illusion is tricking your mind into thinking something disappears, or something moves. It tricks your mind into thinking its something else. I did mine by making a colored star. Then i made another star that had the outline of black. Then you just move in closer to the screen covering your right eye. It shows that your eye has a blind spot.

Reflection-picture frame

1.- What shapes did you use?
I used flowers,butterflies,dog footprints, a crown, stars, a c.
2.- Why did you choose those colors?
I choose those colors based on not blending in. I didn't want the shapes to blend in. So i choose colors that stood out and matched.
3.- How can you have make it better?
I could have put more shapes, if it had more shape selections. I could have done a different color too.
4.- What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was me. I used things that reflect who i am as a person. Like the words live laugh love.
5.- Are shapes difficult to use? why?
The shapes weren't difficult to use because all you do find the shape your looking for and then drag it to the size you want. Thats it.

Reflection bobble head

1. What was the objective of the task?
The objective of the task was to switch the head from one picture to the other. You had to switch the picture from youur role model to your head. Then you had to move your picture to the head of your role model. You had to enlarge the picture when you switched it from its orginal picture. The reason why you enlarged it is because you want to make it look like a bobble head. Even though it doesnt move back and forth. At least its large!
2. What picture did you decide to use and why?

I decided to use my picture and a picture of Reese Witherspoon because Reese Witherspoon is my role model. She is a great example for kids because she is part of fighting breast cancer. She also doesnt get brain washed from all the publicity or the celebrity life. I decided to use my picture because Ms Ramirez said so.
3. How did it turn out compared to what you were planning on doing?

It turned out alright I guess. I thought it would come out more cut clean. When you zoom in like really zoom in you can see that it really isnt cut. Other than that the whole thing came out good.
4. What was the most difficult aspect of this project?

The most difficult aspect of this project was cutting out the head. It was hard because it was soooo much work. I did it with the magnetic lasso tool. I think that it what made it diffucult. I also tried using the magic wand but that was too hard to use too. I tried using the quick selection tool, it will only select the right side of the face. When it gets too much of the picture, i erased most of the picture. It was pretty difficult.
5. If you were to re-do this project, what would you do differently or add to it?

I would try to cut the pictures more clean the way i wanted to. Maybe it would come out the way i wanted it to. I wouldn't add anything because its fine like that. I would j ust make sure that i cut it good.

Photoshop layout

I believe I did pretty well on the photo shop layout. I put in as much detail as i can. I drew the whole window, everything that was included with the photoshop page. Drew in some of the tools from the toolbar. Although, i could have drew more straight lines because it looks sort of sloppy! :) So overall, i did pretty well, even if i cant draw....=]

My expectations

I expect to learn alot from this class. I expect to learn more about using photo shop and playing around with pictures. My friends are always messing around with pictures and stuff but i've always not done anything because i don't know how. Hopefully, in this class i learn how to mess around with photo shop. I expect vanessa to talk louder because sometimes i cant hear her.
This class will hopefully show me to play around with graphics and stuff like that. I want to learn about graphics because i want to make my own website. Since i have a youtube account, i wanted to make my own website and link my videos. But the one thing i really want to do is play around with photo shop. That way i can mess up my friends picture!!
